Information about H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu )

We are receiving many calls about the H1N1 (swine flu) outbreak. The situation changes on a daily basis and as of now, we have seen a number of patients showing symptoms. The CDC (centers for disease control) and our State Public Health Department are keeping a close eye on developing situations. We will post additional developments as warranted.

For now, we encourage everyone to follow the recommended precautions to help stop the spread of all germs. They include:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick stay home. Keep sick children home from school.

  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow, or cover your mouth and nose with a tissue. Throw the tissue away after use.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or a hand sanitizing lotion. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated.
